“Le Collectif Wekré

After a de facto existence for several years, through activities of research and better knowledge of the plastic arts, in the participations and supports to activities of the sector, Le Collectif Wekré has matured its mission and its activities. In 2020, following the Wekré exhibition, an association under Burkinabè́ private law was formed to evolve in the arts sector in Burkina Faso. This structuring was then concretized by the organization of the exhibition Yiriwa, for the valorization of the artists of Bobo Dioulasso as well as by the participation in the regional event Ségou Arts in Niger. This professional framework at the service of the artist and the culture is the pledge of the determination of this young association to play a major role in the development of the culture in our country. Composed on the one hand of a committeé of wise men fleshed out with imminent personalities of the world of arts in our country such as KY Siriky, SAWADOGO Christophe, Olga YAMEOGO and Abou TRAORE; and on the other hand of confirmed actors of the cultural world and experts in communication, event management, public relations and accounting and financial management.

The Association “COLLECTIF Wekré” is part of the dynamics of private cultural entrepreneurship that supports the efforts made by the public authorities to support the cultural field.
